Fake was one of the first songs written for Launched. It was written when Steffi was still the band's drummer.
Originally called Fake Behind A Smile, it was first played live all the way back during their 1997 tour, with a slightly different arrangement. Soon thereafter, it was put on a 3-track demo that the band sent out to lables. It was dropped from the setlist sometime during 2000.
