After a dry phase of seven years, Beatsteaks released PLEASE as their ninth studio album. It is the first album since Smack Smash to not involve Moses Schneider as a producer. Instead, it was decided to go with Olaf Opal (Liquido, Juli, Madsen). Eventually, 25 songs were cut down to eleven. 

The album was recorded in a ten day period right after the band's performance at Fusion Fest. Instead of using a usual studio, they recorded the album at the Columbia Theater during it's Summer break.
