This One

This One was one of the first songs written for Living Targets. The song was recorded during their first session in Cologne during late 2000. It was produced by Uwe Sabirowsky.

It was featured on a promo-cassette tape, given out by the band throughout the Summer of 2001. The tape is pretty interesting as it mentions Living Targets' scrapped name The Ordinary Me. View the promo-tape here.

Beatsteaks played the song quite a lot during their Living Targets tour. Soon thereafter however, it was abandoned completely, only being played a couple of times in 2010.

[Verse 1]

Every day's the same

Got to play the game

Got to smile if you don't want to

Boring walks to walk boring

Talks to talk

And you wish it would not be true

[Chorus]

If you're devastated put it all in this one

If your world is jaded put it all in this one

[Verse 2]

Every night in vain

Every friend's the same

Just a lie and a wasted tear

Scared of coming home

Cause you're all alone

'Will I make my way out of here?'

[Bridge]

Get down

Get down

Get down

If your world is getting small without

All the things you thought it's all about

If the pleasure of a brand new day

With the sunlight starts to fade away

If your world is getting small without

All the things you thought it's all about

If the pleasure of a brand new day

Fade away
