Kings of Metal

Kings of Metal is a heavily rewritten cover song of Manowar. It was Arnim's idea to write a blues version of the afoermentioned song.

From it's release to 2006, it was played at almost all concerts. The song was always a subject to experimentation during shows: Using surfboards or guitarcases to stand on crowds, getting random people from the audience to play the song on drums, adding and removing instruments with just a fingersnap... The band got creative to say the least. Every tour, there would be a new gimmick for this song.

After the festival tour in 2006, the song was dropped and left unplayed for a decade. However, it's not completely forgotten. On a couple of rare occasions in recent years, the song was played again. It's most recent appearance was on May 18 2022.

[Verse 1]

Manowar, Manowar, living on the road

When we're in town, speakers explode

We don't attract wimps

'Cause we're too loud

Just true metal people

That's Manowar's crowd

[Chorus]

They wanna keep us down

But they can't last

When we get up

We're gonna kick your ass

Gonna keep on burning

We always will

Other bands play, Manowar kills

Other bands play, Manowar kills

[Verse 2]

We like it hard, we like it fast

We got the biggest amps

Man, they blast

True metal people wanna rock, not pose

Wearing jeans and leather

Not Cracker Jack clothes

[Interlude]

Now listen to me

[Verse 3]

We are the kings of metal

Coming to town

When we light up

Have the roof nailed down

Don't try to tell us that we're too loud

'Cause there ain't no way

That we'll ever ever turn down

[Outro]

Thank you
